Coffee and Kittens

This is another sketch that I took into Photoshop to try out some things on.

Colored lines have been interesting me more and more as I've always been interested in un-inked pencils because of their subtle texture and dare I say sumptuousness, versus ink's rather harsh (and perhaps more contrived) division of forms. So in an effort to carry that over into the colored image, rather than pounding the pencils into hard lines using some sort of contrast filter (as I've done in the past), I left them mostly as they were and laid color over them.

The previous image uses the same technique but this was done first. No reference was used (except for the shoes which are mine :) ).

Note - Ignore or enjoy the explosion of kittens under the seat, they simply shared the same space as this sketch in my pad.

Sketch, cute winter blonde.

Studying women's fashion.

The major thing here was getting the boobs right, or wrong. Originally, the reference had very little boob action going on and I was going to respect that. The coat/sweater was very thick and therefore hid/muted the boobs. However, I couldn't get the fricken angle right on her left breast so I finally just said screw it, yer getting huge knockers. Sigh.

Oh, and pardon my use of the words "boobs" and "knockers". I've been told it's immature. Sorry.

Photoshop techniques of note - For the sweater I used a heavy noise filter then played with the layers. I think it was successful.
